Tony Thompson earned a computer science degree from Cornell College, worked for Habitat for Humanity and became Des Moines Habitat's first full-time ReStore manager, and completed a Ph.D. in engineering in Sweden in 2012. He started New Family Farm, a community supported agriculture operation, in 2013, later worked as a data analyst at Marsh McLennan and a data scientist at Growers Edge, and with family bought the food hub Prudent Produce.
