Proposed Amendment No. 1
Would let the surviving spouse of a disabled veteran who receives the additional homestead property tax exemption transfer it one time to a new qualifying home, and removes the requirement that the spouse keep occupying and owning the original property. Effective January 1, 2027.
What a vote means
- A yes vote
- A yes vote approves the amendment to the Louisiana Constitution.
- A no vote
- The state constitution stays as it is now.
