- Registration deadline
- North Dakota does not have voter registration; bring an acceptable ID showing your North Dakota residential address.
- Early voting
- Each county commission decides whether to offer in-person early voting, up to 15 days before Election Day. For 2026 it is offered in Burleigh, Cass, Grand Forks, Morton, Stark, Stutsman and Ward counties; see vote.nd.gov/myvotinginfo for dates and places.
- ID at the polls
- Voters must bring a valid form of ID (for example a North Dakota driver's license or non-driver ID, tribal ID or tribal letter, or long-term care certificate) showing a current North Dakota residential address, with supplemental documents if needed.
